The National Heritage Institute has resumed an archaeological research project on the site of Avitta Bibba, delegation of Bourada, governorate of Siliana. Under the direction of researchers Mohammed Ben Najma, Chokri Touihri, Yamen Saghier and the chief heritage conservator Mounir Torchani a group made up of heritage conservators Sara Sondesni, Sonia Hafyen, Ines Kammoun and Sara Mehawachi, with the participation of Khoni and Makram Doggi (Manager advisor), Nizar Hamza (Photographer), Yahya Khamiri (technician) and Rida Andoulsi (Head of Hadera) as well as a number of postgraduate archeology students: Fatma Toj, Islam Ben Salem, Jehan Saadani, Amna Nouri and drivers Lotfi Kahlon and Ahmed Hedhili have carried out work.

The archaeological research, in its second year, includes surveys, inventories and excavations of the most important monuments of the site that testify to the human presence. The research team would like to thank the regional authorities of Siliana and the local authorities of Bourada, in particular Mr. Aymen Jamai, mayor of Bouarrada, Mr. Monji Merwani, omda of Fetis, Mr. Ashref Sassi, head of the territorial guard in Bourada, and the First Agent Mr. Adel Ben Ali and the inhabitants of the region for their good cooperation.
